Games Night
Has anyone been to "Snakes and Lattes"? It's a board games cafe located in the Annex neighbourhood of Toronto. It's been around for awhile, but last Saturday was our first visit there. It's a pretty clever concept: for $5 per person, you can play board games there as long as you like. They also have a menu with sandwiches, coffee, and beer/spirits (you have to specify you want to sit in the alcohol licensed area though).
They had hundreds of board games lined up on the walls, and the staff walks around to show you how to play games or make recommendations if you need it. All in all, it was a lot of fun and a great place to meet up with friends for a few hours.
Since we were on a games kick, last night Jay and I pulled out a game called "Monopoly Deal" that we got at Christmas from Mary and Ben. It's a card game based on Monopoly, but it's a lot quicker (each game only takes about 15 min) and more conniving. You can steal properties from other players! Jay is a ruthless board game player, and you'd think that maybe he'd show a little mercy when his opponent is his pregnant wife (yes, I played the pregnancy card!) but nope. Jay slaughtered me. I highly recommend "Monopoly Deal" - it's really a lot of fun and easy to set up and play.

Woot woot! I played this on New Year's Day and loved it. We kept saying, "Okay, one more round," then when that was done, we'd say, "Okay, just one more." I'm glad you like it! Mary
That was us too! I kept saying "one more round" but mostly it was because I wanted to play until I won, haha
