Jay and I went on an amazing trip to Santorini, Mykonos, Athens and Istanbul a few weeks ago. The Greek islands were beautiful and relaxing, while Athens and Istanbul were full of culture and interesting sites to visit.
The views in Santorini (which is an active volcano cluster of islands) were amazing:
It's worth going down the winding path to the harbour (there's a cable car for those who don't want to walk) so that you can take a donkey ride back up.
We rented an ATV and went all over Santorini, visiting Ancient Thira, Perissa Beach, Red Beach, and the lighthouse at the tip of the caldera where the view was breathtaking:
Mykonos is more of a party island, and is well known for their beaches and proximity to Delos (one of the most important and sacred archaelogical sites in Greece):
We were only in Athens for a day and a half, but it was enough time for us to visit the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, National Archaelogical Museum and the new Acropolis Museum:
Istanbul was a beautiful city. It was an interesting blend of old and modern, with both Asian and European influences.
